Language is at the core of human consciousness and knowledge. It is prevalent everywhere from everyday life to academics, from being a passive recipient of information and entertainment to active professional life in offices, universities, colleges, school to media. Over time the study of languages leaned more towards literary works and communicative aspects moved into the background.
In recent times we have seen increasing apathy towards language study among college going students. The present course attempts to highlight the communicative aspect of the language because even after almost two decades of large-scale recruitment of translators, officers, more job opportunities in newspapers and television channels, the quality of language use has not improved.
